We're just a week away from our spring tag sale and we're busy with last minute details. We have lots of new furniture and fabulous finds. It's all coming together and I'll have a preview to share soon. But today I wanted to share the talents of one of our vendors, Yvonne Zeminski of Elegant Inkz.
We're really excited to have Yvonne's beautiful handmade cards at Elizabeth & Co. and they are already a hit with our customers!
Yvonne came by to set up her cards this week and I just had to take a few quick pictures!
You really have to see the cards in person to appreciate the details inside and out. Yvonne hand cuts everything, makes most of her own templates and traces by hand. She rarely use die-cuts.
The graduation cards are made from old bank file folders!
Each card is a really little piece of art!
Yvonne says the greatest compliment is when someone tells her that they save every card she sends them!
And of course there is a story about how Yvonne got started making handmade cards. She was out shopping one day and got stranded at a local shop in the middle of a thunderstorm. While waiting for the storm to pass, she asked the owner of the shop about a new line of products. She got a quick demo on how to ink a rubber stamp, make the impression and use embossing powder to create a raised ink effect like engraving. Yvonne was totally intrigued by the process and made a small purchase. Then she went home and started to play. ... Yvonne had discovered her passion!
Yvonne is a banker by day and an artist by night. I just had to ask about her workspace and Yvonne agreed to share a few photos. She has a corner carved out in her basement for her projects and she describes her stamping room as a space where a real woman creates. Don't you just love it!
Yvonne describes stamping as a beautiful way to express art.
And when you see her beautiful cards, you will certainly agree!

Yvonne's cards truly look like they're works of art in your photos here, Sharon, so beautifully detailed and layered. I bet they're even prettier in person. Lucky tag sale shoppers! I gleaned a tip from her studio, too, and pinned it: hanging large pieces of art paper from a pant/skirt hanger is so smart! No unwanted folds and wrinkles, and easy to see each piece. You sound uberbusy, and I'm looking forward to your tag sale preview! Have a great weekend, my friend!
These are beautiful- so detailed- love the fox and owl especially!
Absolutely love Yvonne's hand made cards, like Laurel said: they are truly works of art. How wonderful she can sell her cards at your tag sale! fun to take a peak in her crafting area, it must be a well-loved space!
