French Blue Dresser

This one is a beauty!

Even in her before shot, she looked pretty good. The real problem was that the veneer on the bottom two dawers was all bubbly. I had no choice but to peel it all off. Ugh!

I thought the blue was a perfect fit, so after all the repair work, I went with Sherwin Williams Boathouse Blue. After a little distressing, I mixed up some black glaze and finished up with a coat of wax.

Like I said, she's a beauty!

I'm still trying to catch up from the weekend and get around to see what everyone has been up to. But blogger is having problems again and I can't sign in to leave comments - so frustrating! And all the posts in my google reader are showing up as unread, even after I read them - very confusing! Hopefully this will be cleared up soon!

And don't forget you have just a few more days to enter the Cottage Charm giveaway event! I'm sharing one of my Burlap and Ruffles table runners in your choice of color. If you can't leave a comment, send me an email and I'll enter your name. And be sure to check out all the other wonderful giveaways in this blog-wide event and meet some new blog friends in the process!

Oh it does sound lovely. I'm signed in fine, but I can't seem to format anything. One day I'll get it together and pay for web support. In the meantime, I'm glad someone hosts me for free.

I do love dressers with deep drawers. I don't particularly understand why we got away from that.

Question for you! I just picked up this free dresser (http://lovelybeasts.blogspot.com/2011/05/another-curbside-rescue-and-getting.html) and I'm having tons of fun picking off the veneer :). Did you do anything to repair it or did you end up just painting over the wood underneath? Would love some help from someone who just successfully tackled this!

Very nice! How hard is it to completely peel veneer? And how do you do it?! This dresser looks a LOT like a dresser I did for my son :)

Happy painting,
Julie

It's a great piece. I really like the color. I want to move toward a more french blue soon, it has more of a green tint than the aqua I've been working with. have a terrific weekend!

HI Sharon, It came out great and I just love the color blue that you choose. There is nothing like the quality of old furniture. It lasts forever! And I've been having problems with blogger lately also....
