Just imagine what might have been created on this machine - a new dress for mom, clothes for the children, curtains for the windows.
All primed and ready for paint.
I really like the way my little chest of drawers turned out, so I decided to go with more Spanish Moss from the Martha Stewart paint line at Home Depot. Last time I wanted a soft look and used a white glaze. This time I went with chocolate brown - just a little brown paint mixed with my favorite Valspar Clear Glazing Mix. Just changing the glaze gives the color a completely different look.
And here she is all finished.
And I kept the sewing machine inside the cabinet, so you can open her top and find a nice surprise!
I love my real sewing machine. It was a Christmas present from my husband the first year we were married over 30 years ago. It still works like a charm! It's sitting on my kitchen table right now. I'm in the middle of a curtain project using drop cloths. But my sewing machine doesn't come in a fancy cabinet. It fits neatly inside what looks like a giant bowling ball bag and I store it in the guest room closet. My, how things change!

oooh it is so cute! i love it! do you mind if i ask where you got the hardware? i have been looking for some like that, but in my budget (meaning dirt cheap...). thanks, sharon!
Love it! You did a great job and I love the glazing compound that you used. Have you tried the machine to see if it works? You may have a new machine after all! Diana
I love your sewing machine, it turned out so nice and pretty! You might just have another sewing machine if you tried it out!

The cabinet turned out beautiful.
I love the sewing machine. It inspires me to get my old cabinet sewing machine painted and looking nice. I now use one that sits on the table, not nearly as pretty as a cabinet one. Thanks for sharing.
Cute! I have almost the exact sewing machine table and have been getting ready to redo it, so it was nice to see one done. ...Stopping over from MMS!
I love it! I just bought an old sewing machine at a second hand store for $49 and I've been thinking about painting it. Thanks for helping me make the decision....... ;)
admirable job.
Stopping by from Chic on a Shoestring! Love how this turned out. That sewing machine is cool!
I love it! I'm so jealous. I can't find one of these reasonably priced anywhere around where I live and I want one to makeover so bad!
The cabinet looks so nice painted white! Great redo!
Beautiful job, Sharon. Isn't that sewing machine lovely! Does it still work?
I love your sewing machine table! Looks great!

Shelia ;)

I love these sewing machine cabinets...you did a beautiful job...wish our new machines came in them!!!
Wow. That is awesome. I just found one of these at my neighbors yard sale for FREE! Except, mine doesn't have a pretty sewing machine inside it. I am excited to paint it and hope it comes out as nice as yours. Way to go!
I love it! Please come by and link up to Vintage Suitcase Friday!
