A Huge Thank You, Photo Editing and Bathroom Details

First of all, a huge thank you from Megan to everyone who voted for her Pinterest Inspired Map Project over at the map themed link up contest at Fireflies and Jellybeans! ... She Won!!! ... Megan's project represents the locations where she and Liam met, married and honeymooned! ... And now Megan will enjoy a little shopping spree at Target, thanks to you! ... Maps and globes are so popular right now and all the entries were inspiring!

And thank you for all the sweet comments on our bathroom renovation project! Believe me, this project was a long time coming! We were also very excited to be featured by some of our favorite blog friends, including a full length reprint of the original post over at Remodelaholic. Thank you Cassity and Justin!

And how much fun is this little bathroom collage! Megan put it together on Picasa. With Picnik going away, she's been trying out some of the other free photo editing sites. Susan at Between Naps On The Porch put together a whole list of options. Megan really likes Picasa and she says she's now addicted to making collages. And she says it is so easy that even I can do it! You should definitely check it out!

We've actually had a ton of questions about our bathroom renovation, some from non-reply commentors. You do know that if you are a non-reply commentor, it means just that, I can not reply to you! You can easily fix this with a change in your settings, details here.

Here's quick rundown of answers to the most frequently asked questions...

*The paint color on the walls is Still Creek (#8513). This was originally a Duron color and the formula is still available at Sherwin Williams. It's a great shade of blue that I used in the hall bathroom and in our master bathroom.

*The floor tile is Interceramic Timberlands 6x24 and the color is Nature Valley. It is dreamy!

*The wall tile is MA-12-LB 5/8 x 2 Glass and Stone Mosaic. I know that sounds vague, but that is exactly what is written on the order form and on the box.

*The electric heated floor mat was purchased online at Warm Your Floor. This was so easy to do and a real treat for your feet.

If you have any other questions, just let me know!

And as always, thanks so much for being here!

Be Inspired Features and Link Party #8

Welcome back for features and party day!

You guys and girls are so talented!
Here are a few inspired ideas that caught my eye this week...

Cassie from Primitive & Proper used her favorite color aqua on this lucky $10 cabinet find.

Link
I love the way Cassie turned up the glam factor with some gold Rub N Buff. Megan and I actually saw this one in person - a real beauty!

More pretty aqua from Retail DiYet. This hutch started out in dark pine with eagle pulls - a real transformation.

Connie from Sensible Redesign shared this beautiful French Table along with an amazing chair upholstery tutorial!

Samm from Little House in the Big D used oops paint to create the most amazing stripes on an estate sale desk - fun and unexpected!

Karen from Redoux picked up a collection of wood pallets on an early morning dumpster diving outing. She even has a favorite dumpster. Check out the amazing work bench she created!

Tabitha from Simply Home is one very patient girl. She has been working on a really cool wine cork back splash in her kitchen for over five years now.

If you have any extra corks, send them her way!

Be Inspired Features and Link Party #5

Welcome back for features and party day! I actually wasn't sure this party was going to happen today. I had a computer crash yesterday. But thankfully I have a very patient and persistent husband. He spent four long hours last night working out all the kinks - Thanks Dear!

Link
I loved going through all the fabulous links last week. Thanks so much to everyone who joined the party! Here are a few inspired ideas that caught my eye...

I am so in love with this slipcovered upholstered bench that Connie from Hartwood Roses created from an old coffee table. It is swoon worthy!

Retail DiYet shared this beautiful dresser aqua dresser that she painted for her sister. It's a beauty!

Check out the cute hardware on this sleek midcentury modern dresser from Social Salutations. Jennifer has a little one on the way. I can hardly wait to see this in the finished nursery!

Aimee from Twigg Studios spray painted, yes spray painted, this leather chair. Amazing! Who knew that was even possible!

Holly from 504 Main was looking for more storage space for her growing book collection, so she built a rolling book cart that slides right under the buffet in her dining room. Genius! And she shares the nicely detailed tutorial too!

Emily from The Diligent One calls this table makeover the most frustrating and rewarding project she's ever worked on. Isn't that the way it usually works? And the beautiful end result was most definitely worth the effort! The coffee sack covered chairs are pretty darn cute too!

I am totally smitten with these fun and whimsical pillows from Katie at Craptastic! I'm definitely inspired to break out the sewing machine!

Sarah from
Alderberry Hill rescued a few sweaters from the donation pile and created these beautiful pillows. A perfect punch of red and white for Valentines Day! And I love the addition of the rosettes!

And finally, a wonderful sweet treat for Valentine's Day. These Peanut Butter Hearts Chocolate Cookies from Jenn At Rook No. 17 look pretty and delicious!

Thanks again to everyone who linked up and linked back! If you've been featured, feel free to grab a cute little button from the sidebar!

Green Cottage Dresser Media Cabinet

This is the green cottage dresser that I shared last summer. It's one of my favorites! I love the bright happy color (Antibes Green Chalk Paint) and cottage style pieces have that relaxed comfortable feel that just makes me smile.

This one has been in a few different spots, but now I think it's now found a happy home in the sun room as a media cabinet.

Here is what this corner looked like over the holidays. We bought the media cabinet when we built this room almost twenty years ago. It's really a beautiful piece of furniture and I often thought about phasing out the dated hunter green color. But I knew that at some point, we were going to have to update to a flat screen TV. Well that time finally came a few weeks ago and flat screen TV's just don't work in these gigantic cabinets.

Now this is what the corner looks like today.

I think dressers make the most wonderful media cabinets. And it's such an easy project.

We just removed the drawer, cut a board to fit for a shelf, drilled holes for the cords and painted the inside - done! If I get bored with it anytime soon, I can just swap it out for another piece. And just like Megan's dresser to media cabinet transformation, we saved the drawer and this dresser could return to it's former life in a matter of minutes!

But for the moment, I am totally thrilled with the new look!

The cable box and blu-ray player fit perfectly on the shelf!

And the drawers provide ample storage for CD's and DVD's!

And of course we now laugh at ourselves for waiting so long to update the TV. We had no idea how bad the picture was on our old TV. We also treated ourselves to an air track speaker and the sound is amazing too. Even when I'm not watching TV, I just pop in a CD. Adele is serenading me at the moment. Modern technology, you don't know what you're missing till you update!

I love the bright pop of color and I'm happy to say goodbye to hunter green. But the corner now needs a little work. I ordered a comfy new slip covered swivel glider from Crate & Barrel to replace the wicker chair. And I'm on the lookout for a new floor lamp and art work for the wall. Something fun and interesting and a little more modern. Like everything, it's a work in progress!

If you're on the lookout for a new media cabinet, consider repurposing a dresser. It's an easy project and a great look! ... Or you could go this route, and just keep the media cabinet you already have. ... This is from a website called There, I Fixed It. Too funny!

And in case you haven't heard, we kicked off the new year with a brand new link party. You can link up whatever is inspiring you at the moment. Join us every Tuesday. We want to be inspired by you!
