We are having a beautiful snow day today!
Not a major storm, just enough to make everything white, soft and oh so peaceful.
Don't you just love how quiet it is when it's snowing?
My favorite place to watch the snow is from my sunroom.
There are windows on three sides and the light is always so beautiful.
This year when I packed up the Christmas decorations, I decided I needed to celebrate winter with a little snowy decor.
I wanted something really simple and natural.
Remember when I made about a million (only a slight exaggeration) frosty pinecones?
And you can check out my ruffled sheet music wreath tutorial here. I used a combination of pages from different hymnals on this one and it gives a nice variation in color.
I'm really loving the mantel in shades of green, gold and silver.
It took only minutes to put together with things I already had on hand - the very best way to decorate!
The cotton stems add softness and give the feel of fluffy white snowballs.
And the mercury glass candles add a lovely glow in the evening!

I think I got my wish on this beautiful snowy day!

Beautiful! I love the idea of keeping decorations for winter! I always get sad after I put the Christmas stuff away. That cotton is such a great addition, too! My Grandma is from the South. I think I'm going to have to add some to my decor to honor her. :)
Thanks for the inspiration!

Wow. I love the snowy landscape, there's something so peaceful about it. I've never lived in the snow but seeing it through your windows gives me an idea of how cozy winter could be. Today it's sunny and people are riding their bikes at the beach in shorts...isn't that crazy?

I love snowy morning like your having today. it's always so pretty and peaceful!
Your mantel is perfection for this time of the year. It's always so hard not to want to jump right to spring, but winter will be with us for a while and I think your decor is perfect for it.
It looks so beautiful Sharon and I think you had way more snow than we did in Virginia! Love your winter decor, your mantel is so tastefully decorated!
So pretty and love your wreath!

The transition between the snowy outside photos and the cozy inside photos say it all! What a warm cozy room, Sharon. I could curl up here in front of your fireplace looking out at that gorgeous scenery all day long. That wreath was made for that brick wall, they're perfect together. I love all your vintage touches here and there, but really, the showstopper for me is your mantle. So beautiful! Oh, and I love the pops of cottage color in this room, the yellow, blue, red, and green. Did you make the snowman runner yourself? It's darling!
Just Beautiful!
BEAUTIFUL snow pictures--stay cozy! Cynthia
