I've had two really lucky curbside finds this summer, both thanks to my eagle-eyed friends! These chairs are the last of the curbside goodness, at least for now.
Look familiar? I bet you've seen chairs just like this a million times. They are not my personal style, but they were certainly worth saving!
They got a fresh new look with white homemade chalk paint and a finish coat of wax. I did prime them first because they had that deep red hue that tends to show through easily.
Distressing always brings out the pretty curves, don't you think?
I recovered the seats in a modern floral fabric in shades of brown, gray and white - neutral, but not boring. I took these pictures late in the evening, so they aren't quite showing the fabric at it's best.
I think they make a pretty fine looking foursome!
Can you believe that these chairs were on a pile with this buffet ...
and it's little brother ...
and this fabulous farmhouse table!
That was pretty much the best curbside find ever! Thanks Peggy! Call me, I'm ready for more curbside goodness!!!

Sharon! These are all so beautiful! Sometimes I get comments about painting wood (I know anyone who is in this "business" does) and I just want to tell them--"Look at how paint and fabric can bring old, outdated pieces such new life!" These are perfect examples. So crushing on those chairs! :)
Jealous of your great score! They all turned out beautifully. Love that fabric on the chairs.
WOW! What SWEET finds! Love those chairs, and I've sold some like them that I wish I still had because they are sooooo comfortable. They looked tired before they got a new 'do'. Now they are fresh and ready to go.
Sharon, they are so awesome now... Love the fabric.. Can't imagine finding such a curbside score - so fun...you brought life back into each one...
Wow!! Awesome, good for you!!
These transformations are all amazing, Sharon. I really like the fabric you chose for the chairs too.
What a great transformation on all of these pieces. Great finds.
The chairs are so pretty now, Sharon. The neutral but modern fabric was a great choice for them. I especially like the light distressing and you are right in that it accents the curves so nicely.

I want to ride with you when you are curbside picking")

Unbelievable curbside finds, Sharon. That doesn't happen often! Love the color on that little green table! xo Diana
You totally rock .... I just hope the previous owners don't suffer garbage remorse and try to come reclaim them ... Great Job!!!!!
I think those pieces have to go down in the annals of incredible curbside finds! Wow. The chairs weren't my taste before, either, but after? Well, I'd have no trouble finding a place for them in my house now. Great job!
I only wish I could find such great curbside finds! This is totally awesome!
Oh my! I really need to get out to the curb more often. Those chairs are beautiful. All of the pieces are just gorgeous and inspiring!
Isn't it amazing what people just throw away. I score a decent roadside treasure at least twice a month. Especially in the early Spring & late Summer months. You did a beautiful job giving them all a new look. Thanks for sharing, Dee from My Painted Stuff
Those were great finds Sharon! Chairs look a whole lot better painted in your chalk paint!
I can't believe all of that was tossed by the curbside - I REALLY CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!
What gorgeous transformations Sharon - love love love them all!
XOXO
Oh my gosh, Sharon! The after of those chairs is amazing! Love how they turned out! I really like the color gray you used on the buffet too! Great to have friends who will watch for treasures for you!
What GREAT curb finds ! Much better than mine. But recently I traded some plants for 4 great oak chairs. I definitely got the better end of that deal! However, they are painted red. Can you tell me how you "prime" your red chairs so it won't bleed through ? Then how do you distress without the red showing under your other color ? Thanks SO much for anything you can tell me.

These are beautiful chairs, and the transformation is incredible -- from granny to gorgeous!
You've definitely given new life to those chairs Sharon... so glad they didn't go to the landfill along with all of those other wonderful curb finds!
lucky you!

I wish I was at the end of my pile!! I forgot what amazing things you found! The chairs look completely different. Great work!
I love the new look of the chairs! My dining room chairs are similar and I want to paint them but my husband would have a fit! Great job!
First of all, it just blows me away that you can show all these major redo's all in one post. They'd be the highlights of my year, but for you it's just work as usual!! I can't believe your energy. Secondly, wow, those chairs look so modern and trendy now. The fabric seats are the perfect colors and scale. And I love the sophisticated gray shimmer on those buffets. The finish looks smooth as glass! If I lived close, I'd come and nab that farmhouse table, such a pretty color. Amazing finds and great refinishing by the master! I'm so impressed!
Unbelievable! It looks like all really good stuff that someone just just done with. So glad that your friend found them and thought of you.
What?! That is crazy!! I love the chairs and the buffets, but I especially am drooling over that table in green.
