Spring Green Wreath

It never fails. We get a brief taste of spring and get all excited, then Mother Nature reminds us that she's not quite ready yet. This morning we woke up to snow and sleet. And it's really chilly out there. So I decided that if it didn't feel like spring outside, maybe I could make it feel like spring inside. I decided to make a spring green wreath with what I had on hand.

This was super easy and you've seen it done before,

so here's just a brief overview.

I started by wrapping a straw wreath with yarn.

A few dots of hot glue every now and then helps hold the yarn in place.

Then I made some felt flowers.

Start by cutting a few circles.

The bigger the circle, the bigger the flower.

Then cut the circles into long strips, in a circular pattern, about 1/2" wide until you reach the center. No need for perfection, you want your flower to look natural.

Then starting in the center, just roll into a fairly tight flower shape.

Again, a few drops of hot glue every now and then holds your flower together.

I had green and white felt, so I made a few flowers of each in various sizes.

Then just hot glue them on your wreath. And add a ribbon to hang your wreath. Well, now there's a cold rain outside, with more snow in

the forecast, but it feels a little bit more like spring in here. I just keep telling myself that all this moisture will make for beautiful

spring flowers when Mother Nature says the time is right!

Happy Spring!
