Ok, so maybe Pantone's choice of Honeysuckle as the 2011 color of the year is not exactly the new color you are looking for right now. It is definitely a big, bold color. Perfect to incorporate into a little girl's room!
Feeling dark and moody? Benjamin Moore chose Vintage Wine (the color on the ceiling below) as their 2011 color of the year. They describe vintage wine as a rich hue with a deep brown base and a hint of smoky violet. And they also chose balance as the theme for the year.
The international paint company Akzo Nobel chose appreciation as their theme and named Lemon Twist their color of the year. Now this is a light, happy color!
You can just barely read the quote on the lemon twist wall.
Loving what you have is one of the most important things in life.
And although Sherwin Williams did not pick a color of the year, they introduced four new color palettes.
Purely Refined - elegant, tailored, understated.
Restless Nomad - sultry, exotic, primal.
Bold Intervention - experimental, artsy, expressive.
Gentle Medley - fresh, airy, innocent.

i love that citrusy lemony color, and i like sherwin williams first two palettes a lot!
I think I could live with any of them except the Bold Intervention. I think the person that lives with that full time might NEED an intervention...that's just my thoughts ;>) Diana
i'm actually really loving pantone color choice for this year.
I think I'm loving the first and the last colors. I think they look fresh and spring like. They'd be good for a fun piece of furniture too.
Not a fan of the honeysuckle but that lemon twist is divine!
